The Role

What you will do

The Compliance Officer supports and assists the Legal and Governance Team and Legal and Governance Manager in ensuring that GTC Scotland policies, processes and procedures comply with the law and that GTC Scotland complies with these policies, processes and procedures in practice.  

What you will need to be successful

  • Higher National Certificate (HNC) or equivalent qualification in law, compliance or a related discipline (SCQF level 7) or equivalent attested vocational or work-based training in a relevant role
  • SCQF Level 6 English (or equivalent) 
  • Evidence of ongoing professional learning 
  • A proven track record of working in the compliance sector
  • Evidenced experience of carrying out compliance reviews and providing written reports on the outcomes of these reviews
  • Experience of involvement in advising on compliance related matters
  • An understanding of information governance compliance, such as Freedom of Information, Subject Access Requests and Data Protection
  • Evidenced experience in building and maintaining effective working partnerships with internal and external users and partners

Working Hours / Pattern

We see this role being based on full time working hours of 35 hours per week, however we would still like to hear from you if you are interested in the role but have alternative needs in relation to working hours or pattern.
