The Employer
The Employer is the father of the young boy.

Job Title: Part time, Personal Assistant
Location of Job: Buckie
Term: Permanent, subject to a three-month trial period
Working Hours: Term time (40 weeks) 6 hours per week Saturday, School holidays (12 weeks) 9 hours per week to be agreed.
Assistants also required to provide cover for other team members due to holidays and sickness. Must be flexible. Working hours to be discussed and agreed with the employer.

- Job Purpose and Way of Working
The aim of the job is to provide assistance to a 6-year-old boy with Autism who is nonverbal and requires support to recognises every day dangers. This young boy enjoys being active outdoors and will require support and monitoring to do this safely.
Duties will include:
- Supporting with outdoor activities including trips to the beach.
- Support with indoor activities within the home.
- Support with taking him swimming.
- Support with personal care including incontinence support
Any questions concerning these duties may be asked at the interview stage. Full training will be provided for all successful applicants.
· Supervision and reporting relationships
Personal Assistants will be directed by and accountable to the employer. It is necessary to ask the employer what the support needs are, observing his directions and requests. It is also necessary to respect the family privacy and to always maintain confidentiality.
· Skills, abilities and desirable personal qualities
Applicants must be reliable, trustworthy and punctual and must be able to work with the young boy on a one-to-one basis, also be able to work as part of a team. Applicants will also be required to hold a full clean UK driving licence.
Applicants with previous experience of Autism would be advantageous however full training will be provided.
· Training
Mandatory training will be provided. This includes: Child support & protection. Any other training needs will be discussed and determined by the Employer and social worker.
· References and the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme
