The Employer is the daughter of the lady who requires support.
- Job Identity
Job Title: Part time, Personal Assistant
Location of Job: Buckie
Term: Permanent, subject to a three month trial period
Working Hours: Part time 30 minute shower on Tuesday and Friday + 2 hours social support day to be agreed.
Assistants also required to provide cover for other team members due to holidays and sickness. Must be flexible. Working hours to be discussed and agreed with the employer.

- Job Purpose and Way of Working
The aim of the job is to provide assistance to an elderly lady who lives with her family and to provide respite hours when required.
Duties will include :
- Supporting the lady with personal care.
- Support with social engaging in the community.
- Providing respite for the family.
Any questions concerning these duties may be asked at the interview stage. Full training will be provided for all successful applicants.
· Supervision and reporting relationships
Personal Assistants will be directed by and accountable to the employer. It is necessary to ask the employer what the support needs are, observing her directions and requests. It is also necessary to respect the family privacy and to maintain confidentiality at all times.
· Skills, abilities and desirable personal qualities
Applicants must be reliable, trustworthy and punctual and must be able to work with the lady on a one to one basis, also be able to work as part of a team
· Training
Mandatory training will be provided. This includes: Adult/Child support & protection. Any other training needs will be discussed and determined by the Employer and social worker.
· References and the Protecting Vulnerable Groups Scheme
A reference from 2 employers, one of which should be current or recent is required. Employees will be required to register with the PVG (Protecting Vulnerable Groups) scheme. Further information can be found at www.disclosurescotland.co.uk
