Scotland’s Islands are known for their wild beauty and wealth of history and heritage which is unique to each Island. This is showcased across the individual islands through World Heritage Sites and listed buildings, world class museums, galleries and performing arts to captivating myths and legends. Scotland’s heritage and cultural landscape is a strong draw for visitors and businesses alike.
To build on this, HITRANS is recruiting the post of Project Manager – Scottish Islands Passport who will be responsible for the development and implementation of a Scottish Islands Passport Scheme which will promote all that the Scottish Islands have to offer and develop sustainable economic opportunities in each island, and in particular those less well known or more remote.
The post holder will work closely with a range of partners including the Scottish Government, Local Authorities, VisitScotland, Highlands and Islands Enterprise and Destination Marketing Organisations amongst others.
The post holder will be educated to degree level or equivalent, or have considerable relevant experience, have the ability to build relationships with partners, supporters and the general public, have an understanding of the Scottish Islands and the distinctive needs and opportunities in relation to the objectives of the project proposal and have proven experience of project management and working independently to deliver projects.

*It is hoped to undertake Interviews on 20th September. It is anticipated that the successful candidate would commence in post at the earliest opportunity but no later than 1st November 2019.
