In this role, you will provide coordination, advice and support that promote the historic environment, supporting economic development activities and community empowerment. This requires a collaborative approach, engaging with both internal and external stakeholders at local, regional and national level, with a strong background in project management and place development.
The post is connected to key corporate priorities surrounding community engagement and economic development and supports projects and programmes delivering our Operating Plan (OP) indicators and Corporate Plan Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). This role has responsibility for managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders collaboratively, in addition to supporting project development and delivery at a local, regional and national level. There are regular triage procedures to allocate a varied caseload which may range from supporting community-based projects through to contributing to regional and national partnerships.
Essential:
- Experience of building and successfully maintaining a pipeline of projects within an economic development or built environment investment programme.
- Experience of working in an economic, spatial planning, or community planning role, including an understanding of the policies and practice in relation to regeneration and placemaking and their associated funding landscapes.
- Confidence and ability to develop and manage imaginative and innovative approaches to economic and community development.
- Experience of project management and appraisal, including planning, developing, due diligence, implementing, budgeting, monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on performance and dealing with competing priorities.
- Proven analytical skills and the ability to capture and analyse information in the most effective way and communicate it in a clear and accessible way.
- Experience of development and/or management of cross organisational engagement programmes, including attracting and communicating with a range of audiences to participate in events.
