An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Houseability team. Houseability provide a housing information, advice, and advocacy service to people with disabilities or long-term health problems, living in Aberdeenshire or wishing to relocate there.
Part- time Housing Advice Assistant (Fixed Term until 31 March 2027 – this may be extended (until 31st March 2028) depending on funding)
Hours: 25 per week (additional hours may be available)– Days and times to be discussed ideally Monday – Thursday
Location: Home Working (Aberdeenshire or Aberdeen)
Salary: £18,746 (pro rata, including pension contribution & home working allowance).
We seek an initiative-taking, well organised, client focussed person with the ability to deal with clients with varying degrees of disability and health related problems with empathy and compassion. You will be comfortable working in partnership with our Housing Advisor to assist clients with their housing options and the related case management. You must have excellent communication skills, have a flexible approach and be a good listener, as well as having a non-judgmental, accepting, and open-minded approach to enabling clients to find solutions to their housing needs.
The ability to process complex information and input data to multiple housing provider application systems accurately, as well as identifying and sharing relevant information on behalf of the client, while adhering to Data Protection regulations is crucial. A knowledge of the geographical area of Aberdeenshire to aid liaising effectively with other agencies on behalf of the client such as the Local Authority Housing & Social Work departments including Housing, Occupational Therapists, and Care Managers, Housing Associations and the NHS is also essential.
A collaborator who can work on their own initiative, has high standard of work, and can demonstrate a strong work ethic is key to this role.
The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
