Job Purpose

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic Social Business Development Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of social entrepreneurial leadership, including experience in developing and scaling social ventures, creating impact-driven partnerships, and leading high-performing teams. They should possess excellent communication skills, the ability to think creatively and strategically, and a passion for social innovation.

The Skills Academy is Kibble’s tertiary Education and Training Centre, based in Hillington Park, Glasgow. It’s modern, innovative, and dynamic, fitting in with the many entrepreneurial, professional and industrious businesses that surround it.

Through the Skills Academy, young people aged 14-25 years-old, can gain valuable work experience, full training and qualifications in line with the current job market. The supportive learning environment, varied curriculum and practical lessons, partnered with rewarding work opportunities help young people develop skills which will increase their chances of finding and sustaining employment within a role they enjoy. The successful applicant will be responsible for growing and creating new social business opportunities for Kibble’s Skills Academy.

Main Duties:

· Identifying new social business market opportunities

· Developing business plans to create successful social businesses

· Developing and maintaining relationships with potential investors, partnerships with potential employers, other care and education organisations, funding sources, large corporate and public sector CSR initiatives, reciprocal/synergistic relationships with organisations Kibble does business with

· Foster an entrepreneurial mindset within the Skills Academy

· Continuously monitor the market and adapt the social business strategy in order for the social enterprise to stay relevant and competitive

· Responsible for developing and implementing KPIs that align with our business objectives and provide valuable insights into our performance

· Represent the Kibble Group at external forums

· Work collaboratively and consistently with the other members of the management team

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

· Qualified to degree level in Management, Business or Marketing or similar area (desirable)

· Display Strong leadership and communication skills to manage a team and build relationships with stakeholders.

· Have demonstrable entrepreneurial mind-set

· Possess a strong business acumen

· Ability to think creatively and identify new market opportunities

· Knowledge in Business Finance and Marketing is desirable

· The ability to build trusting relationships with young people and staff

· Excellent communicator with the ability to liaise effectively with customers, staff and professionals on all levels

· Creative, with the ability to identify improvements to the services provided

· Enthusiastic team player

· Display a Confident approach

· Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise workload

· Ability to work with minimal supervision

Safe Crisis Training (SCM)

Successful candidates will require a level of fitness to be able to carry out SCM. Please see note section below (4) for further information.

3. The successful candidate will be subject to PVG Scheme Membership. Having previous convictions will not automatically disbar you from working at Kibble (with the exception of offences against children or other vulnerable groups) and every case is taken on an individual basis.

4. The successful candidate will be required to undertake Safe Crisis Management (SCM) training and will require a level of fitness to be able to carry out SCM. The successful candidate must be able to participate fully in this training and be prepared to put this training into practice.

The SCM training will consist of two days theory and two days physical training. The successful candidate must complete this training in full within four weeks of an agreed start date. Should the candidate for any reason fail any aspect of the SCM training (theory, physical or both parts), an additional two weeks will be given to pass.

5. Appointments will be subject to a twelve-month probationary period.
