Kibble has been awarded funding and we are seeking a Wellbeing Officer to help us to improve outcomes for survivors (16+) across Scotland who are transitioning from care. The Wellbeing Support Worker will safeguard positive post-care transitions, and support smooth transfer into community-based adult services. The successful candidate will support and empower survivors to manage the practicalities of independent living (housing, tenancy, welfare, benefits, debt management, employment, cooking, and eating well), and help to identify routes to positive social and wellbeing activities.

  • To help young people to acquire daily living skills required to enjoy a safe and healthy life.
  • Support and signpost young people to access services in their community e.g. register with a doctor, dentist, learn how to use a library.
  • Encourage young people to take an active part in activities within their community.
  • To contribute to reviews as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team around each young person, where appropriate.
  • To support development of wellbeing practices, linking with local services, and managing independent living.
  • To link young people to support group/organisations in their community and help them to attend, where practical.
  • To assist with the completion of statistical returns, providing information for report writing as required by the funding team.

  • Relate to young people and have a proven track record in building and sustaining relationships with them.
  • HNC in Social Care, SVQ Level 3 in Care or equivalent or the ability to undertake the HNC and SVQ Level 3 Social Care.
