LOSC is a vibrant community committed to providing excellent out-of-school care for up to 53 children, from Nursery through to Primary 7, operating over a Breakfast Club, After School Club and Holiday Club. The Role:

We are seeking a Manager to lead and organise the daily operations of our before and after school provisions, as well as the holiday club. This role is pivotal in maintaining high standards of care and offering creative play opportunities for children aged 3 to 11 in a safe and nurturing environment. With a supportive committee, this position is ideal for someone ready to step in, lead with passion, and effectively manage our thriving service.

The required working hours are split as follows:

  • Term time and Club Closure weeks - 42 weeks @ 31hours a week
  • Holiday Club - 10 weeks @ 42 hours a week

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the delivery and day-to-day management of the breakfast, after school, and holiday clubs.
  • Provide line management for a team of practitioners and support staff, fostering their professional growth through supervision, induction, and development.
  • Develop and maintain engaging, creative play opportunities in line with children's developmental needs.
  • Ensure all operations comply with safety, hygiene, and safeguarding standards.
  • Handle all aspects of administration and finance for the club, including record keeping, bookings, and fee collection.
  • Maintain effective communication with parents, school staff, local authorities, and the committee.
  • Promote and market LOSC to maintain and grow occupancy levels.
  • Plan and lead diverse activities for children aged 3-11 years, ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.
  • Manage dietary requirements and prepare nutritious snacks.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in managing childcare, play, or educational settings.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare or education SCQF level 9 or working towards.
  • A strong understanding of child development and the Curriculum for Excellence.
  • Leadership skills to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or ability to register within the specified time frame.
  • Knowledge of the Famly-Early Childcare Management Platform is preferable but not essential as full training will be given.
