Our seasonal roles mean that you would work during our busy seasonal months, starting around 1st April and finishing around 30th September, although this may vary slightly depending on business needs. Our working week is a maximum of 35 hours, with these roles operating on a rota system. Therefore, you could work a maximum of up to 20 shifts from a variety of contracts which will be discussed in more detail with successful candidates.
We are also recruiting for Seasonal Casual Working Agreement staff, these positions are park wide and help manage visitor pressures, like our contracted roles, but these casual contracts can fit around your life or other work commitments. We aim to give 2 weeks notice for upcoming shifts. Much of the work does fall on weekends.

Seasonal Visitor Management Rangers (exact contracted hours to be agreed)
Band A1 £21,487 per annum pro rata,
These positions are park wide and help manage visitor pressures by patrolling all areas, including our Camping Management Zones and permit areas. The role is very customer focused and entails checking permits, handling camping issues including enforcing byelaws where necessary and joint working with the police. Shifts are every weekend and include early, mid and late shifts.
Start locations - are Balloch/Balmaha/Callander/Lochearnhead/Loch Chon Campsite/Loch Achray Campsite.
Seasonal Campsite Rangers (exact contracted hours to be agreed)
Band A1 £21,487 per annum pro rata,
These roles help deliver a high-quality camping experience through the site management of the Loch Chon and/or Loch Achray Campsites, ensuring that guests and their camping parties comply with the Campsite Terms & Conditions and that the campsite facilities are maintained to a high standard. Shifts are every weekend and include early, mid and late shifts.
Start locations - Loch Chon & Loch Achray.
Seasonal Visitor Centre Rangers (exact contracted hours to be agreed)
Band A1 £21,487 per annum pro rata,
Approx 120,000 visitors pass through the visitor centre in Balmaha each year. Rangers provide a welcoming and friendly service during the busy visitor management season, dealing with general enquiries, providing information, and running of the site, and at times facilitating children's’ self-led activities. Shifts are every weekend and include early and mid shifts.

Seasonal Slipway Rangers (exact contracted hours to be agreed)
Band A1 £21,487 per annum pro rata,
This role will entail handling boat launches on site, site management, registration enquiries including byelaw enforcement when required, and accurate use of the boat registration database alongside the boat registration officer. Rangers ensure that loch users are following site T&C’s, have correctly registered and are byelaw compliant before launching at the National Park slipway. Shifts are every weekend and include early, mid and late shifts.
Start location - Balloch
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have a full UK driving licence and are confident to drive our National Park vehicles
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A positive, flexible and can-do attitude
- Experience of visitor management or work in a customer focused role
- Knowledge of and interest in the environment and countryside issues
Successful candidates must attend induction training scheduled for week commencing 24th March 2025.
Shift Information
- Rota will be provided for the full season and runs on a repeating 4-week pattern
- Shifts are 7 hours long with a 30-minute lunch break
- Normal shift – Between 08:00 and 09:00 start depending on location
- Late shift – Vary depending on the sunset times but finish no later than 21:30
