MAGDALENE:CC SCIO is seeking an experienced After School Club Manager (Development Phase) to lead The Daily Project, a new after-school childcare service serving families in East Edinburgh.
This is a part-time management role (24 hours per week) focused on leadership, quality assurance, regulatory compliance and staff support, rather than routine face-to-face session delivery.
Important Context
This post has been designed to be realistic, supported and sustainable during the service’s development phase.
• Core administrative functions are provided separately
• The Manager is not expected to deliver routine day-to-day sessions
• Session delivery is required only in exceptional circumstances (e.g. short-term cover)
• The focus of the role is on embedding systems, supporting staff and ensuring high-quality practice
The post holder will be supported by the organisation’s Executive Officer and Senior Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide leadership and oversight for the Daily Project
• Support, supervise and develop the staff team
• Ensure compliance with Care Inspectorate and SSSC requirements
• Oversee safeguarding, wellbeing and safe practice
• Support service development as it moves into full operation

Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
• A SCQF Level 9 qualification recognised by the SSSC for registration as a Manager in Day Care of Children’s Services (or be working towards this)
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in childcare, out-of-school care or a related setting
• Experience of leading or supervising staff
• Strong understanding of safeguarding, GIRFEC and regulatory frameworks
• PVG Scheme membership (or willingness to join)
• Ability to register with the SSSC as a Manager

• Contract: Fixed Term – 2 Years
• Salary: £21,914.88 per annum
• Hourly Rate: £17.56
• FTE Equivalent: approximately £34,242
