We are recruiting for a Painter to join our Property team.

Our Property team is responsible for the management of a portfolio of 400 properties varying in size throughout Glasgow and the team consists of general administration, maintenance workers, technicians, painters and joiners.

The Painter will carry out planned and reactive redecoration works to ensure that properties are available to let as soon as possible.

Main duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Recording of labour, materials, and consumables used in the delivery of the service
  • Prepping of walls, ceilings, surfaces and woodwork
  • Taping work
  • Painting of both internal and external surfaces with gloss, emulsions, wood stains, varnish, primer and undercoat
  • Stripping, cutting and hanging wallpaper
  • Working in both commercial and domestic properties which may include external redecorations
  • Planned maintenance, redecorations and property inspections on a scheduled basis
  • Respond to emergency decoration requests as required
  • Completion of void inspection and planned maintenance paperwork

What we expect from you

We’re looking for you to be qualified in a recognised trade, ideally with experience of carrying out redecoration works including prepping, painting and wallpapering.

A full, up to date UK driving license is an essential requirement.

What you can expect from us

  • Your normal working hours are 35 per week, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm
  • Your main place of work is Rosemount Business Park, Charles Street, Glasgow, G21 with regular travel to property locations
  • Annual leave entitlement of 210 hours (equivalent to 6 weeks) pro rata per year in the first year rising to 280 hours (equivalent to 8 weeks) pro rata per year in the second.
  • You will be automatically enrolled into the People’s Pension in the month that you will complete 3-months of employment, provided you meet the auto-enrolment criteria
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Option to purchase and sell annual leave
