Health and Safety Advisor

  • 35 hours per week
  • Salary: Grade 5 – £43,986 - £48,113

We are looking for a proactive and knowledgeable Health and Safety Advisor to join the River Clyde Homes Group and help promote a positive health and safety culture across the organisation. This is a key advisory role, supporting managers and teams to ensure compliance with legislation and best practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assist with the design and development of health and safety management systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Support managers with risk assessments, safe systems of work, and accident investigations.
  • Carry out planned health and safety inspections and participate in annual audits.
  • Prepare reports and statistical analysis for managers and the Board.
  • Deliver in-house health and safety training programmes.
  • Provide guidance on fire safety management and oversee fire drills and warden training.
  • Advise on specialist areas such as hazardous substances, noise, vibration, and occupational health.
  • Deputise for the Health & Safety Manager when required.
  • Work collaboratively with enforcement agencies and trade unions.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrable experience as a Health and Safety Practitioner
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or working towards this.
  • Membership of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health.
  • Demonstrable experience in Fire Safety Domestic and / or non - domestic
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence at all levels.
  • IT skills to produce and analyse relevant data within agreed timescales.
  • Full driving licence.
