Are you ready to take the next steps in your career? The Scottish Land Commission is seeking a passionate and experienced Finance and Business Systems Lead to join our busy and dedicated team.

Why Join Us?

As a Finance and Business Systems Lead, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of our organisation. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside a talented and diverse team, driving strategic financial planning and ensuring robust corporate governance. At the Scottish Land Commission, we offer a supportive and flexible working environment, with hybrid work options available, helping you to achieve a healthy work-life balance.

What You'll Do:

In this role, you'll be responsible for delivering effective financial management and oversight, ensuring compliance with legal and operational requirements. You'll collaborate closely with our teams to guide strategic financial planning and manage internal and external audits. Additionally, you'll lead key functions, including procurement and contract management, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.

We know that sometimes people can avoid applying for jobs unless they can meet every single requirement. If you’re interested in this job, but don’t meet all the criteria, please apply anyway. This is a varied role and full training can be given, we don’t expect anyone to be able to do every part of the job straightaway. Everyone has a learning curve.

What We're Looking For:

We're seeking candidates with a relevant degree or equivalent professional experience, coupled with a strong background in financial management. Experience in a public policy environment is desirable but not necessary, along with expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting. Proficiency in financial software along with exceptional problem-solving abilities and strong attention to detail.

What we can offer

  • 25 days annual leave per year (increasing to 30 after four years of service) and 11.5 days public holidays
  • Genuine flexible and hybrid working available for all staff (on average you’ll need to be in the office around once a week)
  • Fully funded professional accreditation fees needed for your role, where applicable
  • Access to a free and confidential Employee Assistance Programme available 24/7
  • A Cycle to Work Scheme
  • A competitive contributory pension scheme with significant employers’ contribution to your pension.
  • Salary annual increase in line with the Scottish Government pay policy.
