At St Mary's Kenmure, we believe that the environment in which children live, learn and grow is fundamental to their safety, wellbeing and recovery. Every aspect of our estate should reflect our vision of creating "a place where people are valued, inspired and thrive." Our work is underpinned by strong relationships, trauma-responsive practice and a commitment to providing safe, nurturing environments that enable children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Estates & Infrastructure to join our Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the Head of Integrated Children's Services, you will provide leadership across estates, facilities, infrastructure and health and safety, ensuring our physical environment actively supports the delivery of exceptional care.
This is a pivotal leadership role with responsibility for developing and delivering our long-term Estates Strategy, leading capital investment and improvement programmes, and ensuring that our buildings, systems and support services remain safe, compliant, efficient and fit for the future.
As the organisation's Health and Safety Officer, you will provide strategic leadership for health, safety and environmental management, embedding a culture where the safety and wellbeing of children, staff and visitors is at the heart of everything we do. You will oversee governance, compliance, risk management and fire safety arrangements while ensuring that statutory responsibilities are met and continuously improved.
You will also lead a diverse range of support services, including estates maintenance, facilities, catering, domestic services, grounds and digital infrastructure. Working closely with colleagues across the organisation and external partners, you will ensure these services operate seamlessly to support the delivery of high-quality, 24-hour care.
We are looking for an experienced estates leader who can combine strategic thinking with operational excellence. You will bring significant experience of managing complex estates, leading multidisciplinary teams, overseeing contractors and capital projects, and delivering services within regulated or high-risk environments. Just as importantly, you will understand the powerful role that the physical environment plays in supporting children who have experienced trauma and be committed to creating spaces that are safe, welcoming and responsive to their needs.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our estate, influence organisational strategy and play a key role in ensuring that every aspect of our environment contributes to the safety, care and wellbeing of the children and young people we support.
If you are an innovative, values-led leader who shares our commitment to creating environments where children can feel safe, valued and able to thrive, we would welcome your application.
