St Mary’s Kenmure
Salary: £31,272 – £39,178 | 37 hours per week
At St Mary’s Kenmure, we support children and young people who have experienced significant adversity to feel safe, understood and able to move forward positively. Our work is rooted in strong relationships, trauma-informed practice and a commitment to providing care that is consistent, thoughtful and responsive to individual need.
St Mary’s Kenmure is a secure care and education service where young people live within a structured, safe and carefully managed environment. Alongside this, care is relational and shaped by a deep understanding of each young person’s experiences and circumstances.
We are recruiting a number of Residential Care Workers to join our team. These roles are central to day-to-day life within the service, supporting young people across the campus in how they live, learn and socialise.
As a Residential Care Worker, you will work directly with young people, building trusting relationships and supporting their wellbeing, development and sense of identity. You will play an active role in delivering care that is consistent, responsive and grounded in understanding each young person’s needs and experiences.
You will be part of a team that works collaboratively to provide safe, predictable and supportive care, contributing to shared approaches and responding thoughtfully to situations as they arise - including times of distress or increased risk.
This role offers the opportunity to develop your practice over time. You will be supported through supervision, reflection and ongoing learning, building your confidence, judgement and ability to respond effectively in emotionally demanding situations.
We welcome applicants with a range of experience, including those developing their practice or those already working within residential or care settings. You should be willing to work towards relevant qualifications and register with the SSSC.
This is an opportunity to be part of a service that invests in its people and is committed to improving outcomes for children and young people through consistent, relational care.
If you feel that this is the challenge you have been waiting for and you want to join a team of professional and caring people, please complete the attached application form and return it to recruitment@stmaryskenmure.org.uk or by mail to Christine Alexander, HR/Payroll Assistant, St Mary’s Kenmure, St Marys Road, Bishopbriggs, Glasgow, G64 2EH.
