Visions Leisure Centre, Cumnock

We are looking for an exceptional team member to work within our team at Visions Leisure Centre. As a swimming instructor, you will teach swimming techniques, swimming strokes, and water safety rules to students with varying swimming abilities.

· Support with customer queries and resolving any issues on site when possible

· Health and safety checks on site

· Maintain the facility to a high standard

· Liaise with the lifeguards and advise of any issues that arise

Swimming Instructor duties and responsibilities

ARE YOU A QUALIFIED SWIMMING TEACHER
PAY RATE - £14.00 - £16.00
To manage the learn to swim framework
To plan and deliver lessons ensuring adherence to the scheme of work and lesson plans
Deliver the Scottish Swimming Learn to Swim Framework reward schemes into your classes
Ensure safe provision of all equipment and ensure it is used correctly
Make sure safety standards are followed in sessions and undertake risk assessments
Identify participants’ abilities and encourage them to reach their full potential
Plan and deliver sessions appropriate to the level of swimmer
Provide explanations and demonstrate swimming techniques
Correct faults in swimming techniques and identify ways to improve performance
To be a positive role model, creating a positive and fun environment in which to motivate and encourage children and adults to participate in swimming
Set ground rules for each session
Evaluate sessions and give feedback
Regularly assess each participant’s ability and progress

Applicants must hold a current Swimming Teachers qualification

Various hours/days available

Employment will be subject to a PVG check
