Job Description
Based at Floor 6, Dundee House, you will work full time, 37 hours per week on a temporary basis for a period of 18 months.
The Modern Apprentice Scheme is focused to target high youth unemployment in the Dundee Area. Funding for training is only available for candidates aged 16 to 19 or disabled/care experienced applicants under the age of 30. You will require 3 national 4s including English and Maths or relevant Foundation Apprenticeship or equivalent.Responsibilities
You will assist in the provision of an efficient administrative and support services to the Planning and Building Standards Teams in the City Development Department. The position will include administration of applications for development and construction. The Modern Apprentice will gain core business skills, training and knowledge through work activity supported by a dedicated workplace mentor. This will enable the Modern Apprentice to have the necessary knowledge, skills and experience to become a Development or Building Quality Assistant.The Individual
You will have a basic knowledge / understanding of general office administration. Proven information and communications technology (ICT) skills e.g. use of a laptop, Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel). The ability to work well as part of a team, good written and verbal communication skills along with good organisational skills with the ability to follow instructions and ask for clarity where required. You will demonstrate attention to detail and high levels of accuracy, and the ability to manage time to meet deadlines and to use own initiative.
You will have the commitment and ability to achieve the full Modern Apprenticeship and to achieving SVQ2 in Business and Administration (SCQF Level 5).
