Admin Officer - Children and Young People's Single Point of Access

Argyll and Bute is one of Scotland’s most stunning areas. As its award-winning council, we play a vital part in the day-to-day life and long-term future of our beautiful and diverse communities. Our unwavering purpose is to make Argyll and Bute the place to be, the place where people want to live, to work and do business. And we are committed to making the council the place to have a great career, by providing excellent benefits and a friendly, dynamic working culture so that each of our 5000 colleagues can deliver services that help our corner of Scotland thrive. Join us to make a difference.

You will be confident and proficient in Microsoft 365, using digital tools to streamline processes, manage information, and support collaborative working. The role involves working across health, education, and social care, so you will need to be skilled at navigating different systems, building relationships, and ensuring information flows smoothly between partners.

A key part of your role will be working closely with IT colleagues to help design and refine digital systems that support the project. Your insight into the day‑to‑day running of the Single Point of Access will be invaluable in shaping efficient, user‑friendly processes that grow with the needs of the service.

Are you an organised, forward‑thinking administrator who enjoys making a real difference for children, young people, and families? We are excited to offer a unique opportunity to join our Children and Young People’s Single Point of Access, working at the heart of our Educational Psychology Service. This is an inspiring and varied role where your contribution will directly support better outcomes for children and young people across our communities.

As our Admin Officer, you will play an instrumental part in the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of this evolving project. This is far more than a traditional administrative post: you will be helping to shape a service that strengthens how families, schools, and professionals access the right support at the right time.

Alongside this developmental work, you will also take a lead in the core daily operations of the Single Point of Access. This includes:

  • Managing and triaging requests for assistance, ensuring they follow the correct pathways.
  • Coordinating and recording actions from multi‑agency meetings, providing accurate and timely summaries.
  • Ensuring that key decisions and outcomes are clearly fed back to referrers and relevant professionals.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is motivated by meaningful work, enjoys improving systems, and thrives in a collaborative, multi‑agency environment. If you are organised, adaptable, and enthusiastic about using your administrative skills to support a service that genuinely makes a difference, we would love to hear from you.
