We are looking to recruit an Administrative Assistant- Licensing to undertake a range of duties relating to the administration of the licensing functions under the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982 and any related legislation. The main responsibilities of the post will be the administration and processing of applications received under the Licensing (Scotland) Act 2005 and the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982. There will be a requirement to attend meetings of the Licensing Board and take minutes. The work will involve dealing with members of the public, licensees and external agencies. The postholder will also be responsible for managing and supervising the licensing team on a daily basis. The work is interesting and varied and the post holder will join a busy licensing team. The successful candidate should be able to manage their own case load and be able to work independently and as part of a team. As well as their headquarters in Lochgilphead, Argyll and Bute Council have area offices in Helensburgh, Oban, Dunoon and Campbeltown and place of work can be negotiable within one of those locations. The Council is currently developing long-term working from home arrangements through the Our Modern Workspace project. This will be for appropriate posts and employees who wish to continue to work in this way. Further detail on this will be available in due course. In the meantime, this post is subject to the Council’s interim arrangements to work from home. Please do not hesitate to contact the Recruiting Manager to discuss this further.
