Chargehand HEAVY GOODS VEHICLE Mechanic required to work within the busy Fleet Support section of Argyll and Bute Council. The post will be based at Blackhill Workshop, Helensburgh or Hamilton Street Dunoon.

This is a permanent post, 37 hours per week over 5 days. Starting hourly rate £17.53 - Incremental increases to £19.05.

The successful candidate must be a qualified HGV Mechanic and will cover Helensburgh and Dunoon area as and when workload requires. You will also be required to partake in a Winter Standby rota in Helensburgh. Applicants must hold qualifications relevant to the job description.

The chargehand mechanic will be required to work on all types of vehicles and plant presented to Blackhill or Dunoon Workshop for repair.

On occasion you may be required to work in any other Argyll and Bute Council workshop as directed by the workshop supervisor.
