Argyll and Bute Council is looking to recruit a Pashto / English speaking interpreter to support refugee and asylum seekers in our authority. 

The post holder will be responsible for enabling professionals and clients to communicate to their mutual satisfaction by accurately transmitting meaning from one language to another in a way that is easily understood by the listener.   

The purpose of the job is to promote understanding of, and access to, services for those who experience barriers due to language, thereby aiding their equality of opportunity.

As a Community Interpreter you will work in the context of public services, such as social work, health services, education and local government related services, including housing and welfare services.
