Argyll and Bute Council’s Customer Service Point team on the Isle of Mull are seeking a Marriage Officer to join their team. This is a permanent part time post working 17.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. This post is based in the Customer Service Point at Breadalbane Street in Tobermory.
The duties of the post are to provide an effective and efficient registration service, conducting civil marriages, civil partnerships, citizenships ceremonies, baby naming ceremonies, renewal of marriage vows and associated duties/paperwork including preparation of registers. This post will carry out registration duties including birth, deaths and predominantly marriage/partnerships will be peripatetic in nature, covering weddings in various locations as required by other registration districts. As the marriage officer post is peripatetic and involves travelling efficiently and effectively between various work locations a driving licence is desirable as public transport is limited on the island. It requires the accurate recording of these events according to systems and procedures determined by the National Records of Scotland. The post will require occasional weekend working to meet the demand for ceremonies. The duties will also include supporting the Customer Service Centre to provide a high quality, efficient and effective service to users by providing a high quality, customer focused service within the Customer Service Centre Team.
