We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed Principal Teacher Interventions (Primary) to join our school middle leadership team. This is a new and exciting post, with responsibility for leading interventions designed to raise attainment and achievement, particularly in relation to children and young people affected by poverty.
The successful candidate will have a key role in ensuring improved outcomes for learners through the delivery of targeted literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing interventions.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and facilitating the planning, delivery and evaluation of interventions in literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing.
- Identifying and monitoring young people requiring additional support and ensuring appropriate interventions are in place.
- Tracking and analysing the effectiveness and impact of interventions on improving outcomes for learners.
- Providing leadership and support for staff delivering targeted interventions, ensuring high-quality provision.
- Overseeing provision for pupils accessing the Hub and other intervention supports.
- Contributing to the wider leadership of the school, supporting improvement priorities and helping to close the attainment gap.
Requirements
The successful candidate will:
- Be an excellent classroom practitioner with a proven track record in raising attainment.
- Demonstrate strong skills in monitoring, tracking and the use of data to improve outcomes.
- Have experience of leading and evaluating interventions that support children and young people.
- Be able to motivate and inspire colleagues, and work effectively as part of a team.
- Have a strong commitment to equity, inclusion and improving life chances for young people.

- "Please Note - Pay arrangements for those starting after 1st day of school session. In accordance with Teachers Conditions of Service (SNCT - Appendix 2.19), Teachers who commence employment with Argyll and Bute Council after the first day of the school session will have their salary for the remainder of the school salary year (which runs from 1 August to 31 July each year), recalculated to reflect how teachers accrue leave and pay. In these circumstances, a calculation will be carried out upon commencement of employment and leave and pay will be adjusted. A link to the guidance sheet will be provided to the successful candidate should this be applicable."
