Job Description

This post is fixed term for 1 year from start date.

Being able to carry out energy performance assessments is essential for this post.  Should you not have an EPC qualification but have relevant associated skills, we can organise for you to undertake EPC assessment training.

To provide support and advice to the vulnerable in the community who are experiencing challenges due to the rising cost of living, fuel poverty and environmental emergency situations such as Covid and Climate change events, and to provide input into the development of actions/strategy that will improve the local situation now and in the future. To assist in the delivery of the Council’s Energy Efficiency schemes.

The objectives of the post are:

  • To assist the vulnerable in the community who are suffering from the rising cost of living, fuel poverty/poverty/environmental crisis
  • to identify solutions to challenges identified and to carry out work to deliver these solutions
  • to work with and develop new and existing support mechanisms e.g. developing and generating links with statutory agencies and voluntary organisations in relation to poverty issues and to provide where appropriate, specialist consultancy/support.
  • to help deliver current energy efficiency projects, including production of EPC’s
  • to collect and analyse data on the vulnerable in the community
  • to create and provide reports on the vulnerable in the community with suggested solutions to problems
  • to contribute information for funding applications
  • to assist and interact with the vulnerable in the community who are suffering due to the impact of Covid-19 and other environmental disasters
  • to work directly with the team leader to help develop and deliver strategies to tackle identified challenges (strategies will include Climate Change, Local Bio-diversity, Carbon reduction, Fuel Poverty, Energy and the Environment) this to include support to Housing, Homeless and Supporting people and STRIVE
  • to participate in the provision of advice and training for Council staff and partners.
