An opportunity has arisen to join Dumfries and Galloway Council’s Service Finance Support team as an Accounting Technician. As an Accounting Technician, you will be required to work as a member of a team, supporting finance colleagues in the delivery of a quality financial service to Council Directorates.
Accounting Technicians assist with a diverse range of financial activities including revenue and capital budget monitoring; maintenance and development of our Financial Management Information System (Integra Centros); assisting in the preparation of final accounts; preparation of financial and statistical returns; data analysis, and the continuous improvement of the services provided to our clients.
Candidates should have some accountancy experience, knowledge of computerised general ledger systems, and strong communication skills. The successful candidate will be highly motivated, enthusiastic, and committed.
A flexible/hybrid working approach between home and the office will be available for this position.
