To work with DG Works – Local Employability and Skills Partnership
Would you like a job where no two days are the same but you’re always busy? Are you a confident, creative and experienced individual? We are looking for a communication officer to join our busy team.
Dumfries and Galloway’s Local Employability and Skills Partnership (DGLEP) coordinates a local approach to the provision of employment and skills services ensures these meet the needs of individuals seeking employment, employers, and businesses.
Our partnership vision is that our region will have a collaborative, effective and easily understood employability and skills system focused on positive outcomes which are person-centred and provide pathways to sustainable and fair work
We are looking for someone who can help us develop the DG Works voice and maximise reach through compliant communications and campaigns in conjunction with our partners. To help, DGLEP have developed a communication plan with the following objectives:
- Support the development of an employability and skills system for Dumfries and Galloway which provides pathways to sustainable and fair work.
- Raise awareness of the Local Employability and Skills Partnership, specifically the services it commissions and the transformative impact and positive outcome it has on clients.
- Increase client engagement with employability services in key demographic and geographic areas and increase positive outcomes for clients
- Increase the number of employers participating in the delivery of programmes in key demographic areas.
- Improve employers’ knowledge and understanding of current issues faced by the local workforce.
- Celebrate successful outcomes from DGLEP programmes and placements.
- Demonstrate this impact through case studies, stories, social media and the
DGLEP website.
The candidate must be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant subject, with a high level of verbal and written communication skills. You would be part of our corporate communications team while working for the DGLEP service.
With excellent interpersonal skills, you’ll be able to plan and deliver across a range of communication platforms, have the ability to convey complex information to a range of audiences and be able to identify the best way to target this. You’ll need to prioritise your workload and stick to strict deadlines. Sometimes you’ll need to work out with office hours.
In short, you’ll be passionate, driven, have a love of all communication disciplines and a focus on getting things done. If this sounds good then we would like to hear from you.
