The General Operative / Driver plays a key role within our Construction and Investment team, supporting the successful delivery of construction projects across our organisation.
In this role you will undertake a range of labouring duties to support the safe and efficient delivery of construction projects. Responsibilities include delivering materials and equipment, assist with site logistics, receive and distribute deliveries, control site access, and support the coordination of operatives, subcontractors, and vehicle movements.
You will also carry out banksman duties, maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensure the safe disposal of site waste and debris. You will take a proactive approach to health and safety, ensuring compliance with City Building policies and procedures, and promptly reporting any issues or risks to management. This includes carrying out daily vehicle inspections and safety checks.What You Will Bring
The successful post holder will be reliable, safety-conscious, and capable of working effectively in a fast-paced construction environment, contributing to the successful delivery of projects while maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and compliance.
You will be an experienced General Operative/ Driver with excellent communication and organisational skills. You will be able to work independently and as part of a busy team to support safe, efficient, and well-coordinated daily operations.
Strong time management skills are essential for this role as you will have to be reliable and punctual to meet delivery expectations.
You must hold a full UK driving licence. Experience working within the construction, labouring, or site-based environment is advantageous. Experience in operating a telehandler and possession of a valid Telehandler certification (e.g. CPCS or NPORS) is desirable.How to Apply
