Senior Officer (Engagement)

Job Description

Based within the Chief Executive’s Department, Destination Glasgow, the Senior Officer (Engagement) will support the delivery of the Council’s corporate communications activity, with a focus on engagement and public relations. Reporting to the Head of City Marketing, the role will lead the development and delivery of engagement strategy and related project activity.

The postholder will plan and coordinate communications with council services, create content across a range of campaigns, and provide analysis and reporting on outcomes. A key element of the role is supporting the work of Destination Glasgow by facilitating stakeholder and partner engagement, and by developing campaigns that promote and enhance Glasgow’s reputation among citizens, businesses, investors and visitors.

This role requires excellent communication, organisational and influencing skills, alongside knowledge of the media and marketing landscape and experience delivering effective engagement and communications activity.

Under the Local Government and Housing Act 1989, this post is politically restricted.
