Applicants are invited for an apprentice vehicle Motor Technician. Applicants will join a supportive workplace where qualified staff will mentor and support towards obtaining recognised qualifications via vocational training delivered by Edinburgh College in 2 week blocks.

A great place to grow the successful applicant will be supported to gain lifelong skills, qualifications in a diverse workplace learning skills on a multitude of fleet to include light, heavy and plant vehicles.

  • Ability to qualify for enrolment on Edinburgh college ‘Automotive Engineering’ course
  • Qualification for Skills development Scotland funding

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Candidates will be paid in line with progression through training programme in conjunction with Edinburgh College – progression paid upon college acknowledgement of progression to next stage.

Year 1 – Grade 1 - £23,650.06

Year 2 – Grade 2 – £24,626.87

Year 3 – Grade 3 - £25,847.88

Year 4 – Grade 4 - £27,181.61
