We are looking for an experienced and motivated Homecare Care Practitioner to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for a caring professional who is passionate about maintaining high standards of care and supporting care staff to deliver outstanding services within the community.

Key Responsibilities

Include providing practical support and guidance to Care at Home staff in delivering person-centred care. Supporting carers with the practical elements of care and promote best practice.

KNOWLEDGE

Jobholders must be educated to HNC/SVQ3 in Social Care and hold an additional supervisory qualification or be working towards. Experience of working in a care service including the supervision of staff is essential. Experience of working with computer software is desirable.

The jobholder will receive medication training, as well as all other mandatory training that is required for the post.

Manual Driver’s licence is essential for post.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £35,409.35 per annum.

Requirements

This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with Protected Adults.

Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Protected Adults, You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by you.
