The Care at Home Team is looking for an experienced and motivated Care Team Supervisor to join our team.

The Role

As a Care Team Supervisor, you will support the day-to-day operational management of the Care at Home service, ensuring that people receive safe, effective and person-centred care in their own homes.

You will have responsibility for coordinating care delivery and supporting care staff to provide a high standard of service.

Key responsibilities will include:

Matching and coordinating packages of care in response to assessed needs and available resources.

Coordinating carer runs and daily staffing arrangements, ensuring effective use of available resources.

Providing leadership, guidance and support to Care at Home staff.

Responding to changes in service user needs and coordinating appropriate adjustments to care packages.

Monitoring the delivery and quality of care and taking appropriate action where concerns arise.

Supporting staff with complex care situations, incidents and operational issues.

Working collaboratively with service users, families, social work, health professionals and other partner agencies.

Participating in and supporting the Care at Home on-call rota.

Supporting the implementation and review of care plans, risk assessments and relevant care documentation.

Contributing to staff supervision, development, training and performance management.

Supporting the investigation and management of incidents and complaints.

Promoting good practice and continuous improvement across the service.

Ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, procedures and professional standards.

About You

We are looking for an individual who can demonstrate:

Significant experience working within a care or social care environment.

Experience of supporting or supervising staff.

A strong understanding of person-centred care and the principles of supporting people to remain independent in their own homes.

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands within a busy operational environment.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Confidence in making decisions and responding effectively to changing circumstances.

The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies.

Good IT, administration and record-keeping skills.

An understanding of relevant legislation, policies and procedures within social care.

A commitment to high standards of care, dignity, respect and safeguarding.

KNOWLEDGE

Jobholders must be educated to HNC/SVQ3 in Social Care and hold an additional supervisory/management qualification with previous experience of working in a care service including the supervision of staff is essential.

Working Pattern: Mon – Thurs 0900-1700 & Fri 0900-1530

Weeks per year: 52

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £40,500.03 per annum.

Requirements
