An exciting time for our Sport & Leisure service which:

  • Meets the needs of Sport & Leisure staff, providing them with a positive working environment, feeling valued, supported and with opportunities to develop.

In partnership with sportscotland Midlothian Council are looking to recruit a Club Development Officer to work with the Development Team to plan, develop and deliver inclusive, innovative & exciting opportunities in physical activity and sport.

The successful candidate will develop strong, sustainable, safe and inclusive sports clubs that support local communities and provide a pathway for people to participate, progress and go on to achieve in sport.

We are looking for a dynamic, innovative, well organised and motivated officer with the ability to create and develop effective relationships, communicating with and directly influencing a broad spectrum of internal and external partners.

This is a new role and a great opportunity to make an impact. 

KNOWLEDGE

The job holder must be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline.

Must have significant experience of working at a similar level in a Community and /or Sport & Activity related area.

Must have proven project management experience.

Must be able to clearly demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the aims and objectives of club development.

Must have knowledge and understanding of working with and empowering volunteers in clubs.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £35,409.35 per annum. 

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children and adults. Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children and Adults. You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by you.
