Midlothian

Educational Psychologist

Salary: £61,428 - £75,273

Fixed term until 25/06/2027

Part Time - 21 hours per week

Work Pattern - 3 days per week - must include a Tuesday

Essential Criteria

    • Applicants must have an honours degree in psychology recognised by the British Psychological Society and the relevant post-graduate qualification in educational psychology.
    • Applicants must be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council or be in the process of registering having gained eligibility.
    • Experience relating to child development, educational systems, and project/research work in educational establishments.
    • Able to work in a values-led way that ensures children and young people participate meaningfully in decisions that affect them.
    • Strong awareness and skills in psychological consultation, assessment and intervention to work through complex problems.
    • Skills and confidence in leading and supporting professional learning and providing effective for staff that promotes learning and wellbeing.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills as part of a team.
    • Ability to work flexibly and be responsive to changing demands and challenges.
    • Self aware and committed to ongoing self-evaluation and professional development as an EP.
    • Ability to work independently and in partnership with a range of agencies.
    • Forward-looking and willing to become involved in innovative approaches.

    Desirable Criteria

    • Knowledge, skills and experience in coaching and/or supervision approaches.
    • Knowledge, skills and experience in facilitating and evaluating the impact of rights-based, relational approaches at universal and targeted levels.
    • Experience in leading on research and development work relating to effective teaching and learning, leadership at all levels and workforce wellbeing.

Requirements

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children.
