This position is office based with our Justice services at No11.
KNOWLEDGE
Evidence of competency in literacy and numeracy skills such as a minimum of three standard grades level 3 passes or above to include Mathematics and English or equivalent is essential. (SVQ 2 or equivalent is an acceptable alternative). Some practical experience or demonstration of competency in the use of word processing and standard PC software packages is also essential.
Experience:
Reception experience is desirable.
Awareness of the work undertaken by Justice Services
Demonstrable competency in keyboard and clerical skills are also required; SVQ 2 or equivalent is an acceptable alternative.
Experience in a similar office environment, with a working knowledge of modern office equipment is desirable.
To be competent in the role the Jobholder must have good interpersonal skills and knowledge of the various systems and software including Microsoft packages. S/he must also have previous experience of working to strict deadlines, co-ordinating and completing multiply tasks.

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £29,181.58 per annum.
Requirements
This role requires Level 1 Disclosure Clearance, the fee for this Disclosure check will be met by you and receipt of the subsequent certificate will be required prior to commencement.
Once you have submitted your application and this has been processed you will be notified by email from Disclosure Scotland that your certificate is available to view. Once you have viewed your certificate you will be allowed to share this with your employer and it is only available for 14 days from the first day you have viewed the certificate.
