Based within the Addiction Recovery Team in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire Council and NHS Lanarkshire are committed to the delivery of high quality integrated addiction support services. As a member of the Integrated Addictions Team, you will assist the Team Manager (Addiction) in the delivery of high quality support and care packages. You will engage with individuals and families affected by substance misuse and assist in promoting effective and appropriate community support and rehabilitation.

As an Addiction Worker you will be required to undertake a para-professional role and will be expected to complete assessment and planning work to a high standard and contribute to the delivery of the integrated addiction service consistent with legal, Council and service policies, procedures and practice standards.

An SVQ 3 or post 2005 HNC in Social Care or relevant nursing qualification or equivalent is essential. It is also an essential requirement to commit to and undertake the Post Graduate Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Studies within a defined timeframe as stipulated by the service. Extended experience of working within addictions or a related care service including direct experience of working with vulnerable service users is also essential. It would be desirable if you already hold the Post Graduate Certificate in Alcohol and Drug Studies or equivalent.

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
