An exciting opportunity has arisen to be part of North Lanarkshire Council’s arboricultural team. Based at Strathclyde Country Park you will work as part of a team and assist in the day to day delivery of an effective and efficient Arboricultural Service.

These roles feature a four-day working week (with a four-day weekend every second week) and generous terms and conditions including a minimum annual leave entitlement of 27 days per annum (plus 6 public holidays) and a defined benefit pension scheme.

Joining our team, you must be physically fit and a team player, with good communications skills and have a sound understanding of health and safety matters relating to arboricultural and climbing duties. You will have a customer focused approach and be self-motivated with an ability to problem solve in respect of all aspects of arboricultural works.

An SVQ Level 2 professional arboricultural qualification, CS 38 & 39 qualification and driving licence including categories B+E are essential for this role.

As a condition of this contract the successful candidate will be required to achieve CS 38 & 39 Tree Climbing & Aerial Tree Rescue qualification within 3 months of being appointed to the role. It is an essential requirement of the role to achieve this qualification and candidates could not continue in the role if they fail to achieve the qualification.

Working pattern:

Week 1: Monday to Thursday 7.15am to 5.00pm

Week 2: Tuesday to Friday 7.15am to 5.00pm

December – February for a period of 8 weeks only the working pattern will be:

Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.00pm and Friday 8.00am – 3.30pm

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
