Enterprise and Communities are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Assistant Principal Officer to support the delivery of the Home to School Transport including the School Transport Redesign.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will have responsibility for the overall co-ordination and supervision of the School Transport Team ensuring all entitled Mainstream and ASN pupils are transported to school. The postholder will have a key role in supporting the Contracts Manager with the ongoing work associated with the School Transport Redesign including the review of the "Walked Routes to School" Policy and the identification and achievement of further efficiencies within both mainstream and ASN Transport.

Main duties will include responsibility for the management of transport contracts, including ensuring value for money and that appropriate procurement arrangements are in place. The postholder will also be responsible for reviewing and development of digital strategies to improve service delivery within the team.

The post is temporary and will be required for a period of up to 12 months. Applicants should be educated to degree level with substantial experience in management/relevant environment. You should further demonstrate high personal drive and motivation alongside excellent communication and partnership working experience.

Work pattern:

35 hours per week - Monday - Thursday: 08:45am - 16:45pm (including a 55 minute unpaid break)

Friday: 08:45am - 16:15pm (including a 50 minute unpaid break)

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
