The team also play a key role in driving sustainable outcomes from all the Council’s procurement activity.

You will ideally have experience in a commercial environment, have an awareness of purchase to pay processes and will be developed to support tender activity including preparation of contract notices, preparation of tender packs; administering tender process; tender evaluation; and preparation contract award notifications with debrief information.

You will have an awareness of the relevant legislation, regulations, and governance applicable to public sector procurement, including the Council own governance arrangements for procurement activity. For reference.

Although no formal qualification is required, working towards CIPS accreditation and/or an SVQ level 3 qualification in a procurement or related discipline would be desirable. Further opportunities to develop their procurement knowledge and expertise will be made available to the successful candidate.
