Business and Digital is committed to delivering responsive digital and technical services to all areas of the council and support the development of the council hub model throughout North Lanarkshire.
We have created a new position of Assistant Technical Service Manager to manage our multi-disciplinary Field Services technical support service. This includes managing the provision of Science, Workshop and ICT support to schools and wider Field Service provision to all employees of the council. The post holder will assist the Technical Services Manager to develop the current Field Service provision to our wider communities and partners, providing connected services across North Lanarkshire in accessible hub locations.
Located in Civic Centre, Motherwell, the postholder has a responsibility for the work of employees or other people in an equivalent position, through the co-ordination of work, on the job training and/or performance appraisal.
The post holder must possess an HND (or equivalent) in a technology related subject along with extended experience in operation, installation, maintenance, and repair of technology equipment to meet business objectives. Excellent communication skills and problem-solving skills are essential, as is the ability to work with others as part of a team or on your own initiative and work closely and responsibly with children. Possession of a Health and Safety qualification is desirable, as is experience with technology in educational environments.
It is also essential that the postholder can travel throughout North Lanarkshire.
Working Pattern
- Monday - Thursday: 8:45am - 4:45pm (including a 55-minute unpaid break)
- Friday: 8:45am - 4:15pm (including a 50-minute unpaid break)
