North Lanarkshire Council is the fourth largest local authority in Scotland, responsible for providing key public services to the residents of North Lanarkshire. We are committed to supporting employees and the wider community in working and living independently using assistive technology.
We have created a new role of Assistive Technology Officer to work with the Assistive Technology Co-ordinator to assess the needs of individuals, recommend appropriate technologies and provide training and support to employees using the service.
You will assist with the recommendations, evaluation, installation and maintenance of assistive technologies which includes software and hardware that aid individuals with disabilities and support needs in their daily work activities.
Ideally, you should have an HNC/SVQ3 or equivalent level of qualification in an Information Technology or Assistive Technology discipline with some relevant work experience. However, you are also eligible to apply if you have transferrable skills and experience gained from working in a service area that supports people and are qualified to HNC/SVQ3 level in that service discipline.
The Assistive Technology team is based in Civic Square, Motherwell as part of the wider Technical Field Services’ team.
You will be required to visit employees in their own homes to assist with technology to support hybrid or home-working arrangements so it is essential that you have a driving licence and are able to drive throughout North Lanarkshire and surrounding areas.
