ICT Technician (Field Services)

NLC7 £25,980 – £28,635

Although based in Motherwell Civic Centre you will carry out inspections, maintenance and first line repairs on non-leased ICT equipment across a wide range of Council sites. You will be part of a team responsible for all hardware and software deployments and support disposal routes for ICT equipment. Your duties will include server repairs and maintenance and you will be expected to maintain appropriate records and systems for the efficient functioning of ICT equipment. Support requirements will be recorded through the Service Desk.

As a developing IT Professional, you will be able to demonstrate technical problem solving skills, be self-motivated and organised and able to adhere to SLA’s and react appropriately to challenges in a fast paced environment. Good communications skills are essential as well as using your own initiative and working well as part of a team.

You should have an HNC (or equivalent) in an ICT related subject along with experience in the operation and maintenance of computing hardware and software. An HND (or equivalent) in an ICT related subject is desirable as is experience within any ICT computer network environments. Training and knowledge within other related best practise subjects such as ITIL is desirable.

Due to the geographical spread of the work, a driving licence is essential as you will be required to drive a car/van with equipment to various locations throughout North Lanarkshire area.

A PVG is essential due to undertaking work within a variety of community settings including schools.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
