Working as part of the wider CLD team, you will support the core functions of Youth Work and contribute to the delivery of community-based programmes and activities for young people. As a Support Worker, you will assist in the delivery of youth work opportunities, including awards and accreditation, approved learning courses, outdoor learning and detached youth work. You will support engagement activities, help promote positive outcomes for young people, and encourage participation in learning, life and work. An enthusiastic and motivated individual, you will have an awareness of key developments within CLD and will participate in relevant training in addition to the Council’s mandatory training requirements.
Working alongside the project officer and other CLD staff, you will support the delivery of preventative education sessions and workshops focused on the harms of gambling. This will include assisting with group activities, community engagement, targeted outreach and digital engagement approaches to help young people and families access information, build resilience and reduce risks of harm.
Successful candidates will have good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
You must have relevant qualifications at SCQF level 5 and above and previous experience of community-based work with young people and / or young adults.
The CLD Support Worker will be line managed through the CLD Youth Work team.
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.
Work patterns will be discussed further at interview stage. Successful candidates are expected to work during the day, in the evenings and weekends. Location for posts will be across North Lanarkshire.
These positions are temporary until March 2028.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
