Community Learning and Development Worker (Temporary) - REQ03166

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the CLD Youth Work team in North Lanarkshire. The post holder will be required to deliver, develop and coordinate the sector leading Duke of Edinburgh Award programme. North Lanarkshire has a well-established training programme for DofE leaders across North Lanarkshire including CLD Youth Work, School and community based voluntary organisations.

The post holder will be required to liaise with DofE leaders, young people, local and national partners as well as oversee the outdoor store that caters for the requirements of expeditions. The post holder will coordinate a timetable of expeditions and ensure quality assurance processes and requirements in line with CLD; Adventure and Activity Licence and DofE License. Essential to the role, is using a CLD approach to engage with young people to achieve the award, removing barriers and being flexible to the needs of young people to allow everyone of all abilities to achieve and improve outcomes in learning, life and work.

You must have a CLD Standards Council approved professional qualification in Community Learning & Development, e.g. BA Hons, PGC, PGD, MA in Community Education, Community Development, Community Learning & Development, Youth Work or CLDSC recognised equivalent.

An enthusiastic and motivated individual, you will have knowledge of current national and local developments in the Community Learning and Development sector as well as good communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to starting this post.
