Join Our Team as a Community Partnership Officer and Make a Difference!

Are you passionate about empowering local communities and supporting community and voluntary organisation? We are looking for two dynamic and experienced professionals to join our Community Partnership Team; to contribute to our ongoing efforts to support organisations who are interested in the use or ownership of council assets; and to promote and raise awareness of our Community Ownership and Management of Council-Owned Assets policy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support community and voluntary sector (CVS) organisations in owning, leasing, or managing community assets.
  • Work closely with community groups to identify assets for transfer and develop plans that promote sustainable community development.
  • Provide training, resources, and capacity-building support to help organisations effectively manage transferred assets.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the successful implementation of our Community Ownership and Management of Council-Owned Assets policy.
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress, ensuring goals and timelines are met.

What You Bring:

  • A degree/ HND or other post-graduate or professional qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline (such as Community Planning, Community Development, Community Capacity Building, Community Learning and Development etc.)
  • Significant experience in community development and capacity building.
  • Strong knowledge of the Community Empowerment (Scotland) Act 2015 and related national policies.
  • Experience working with CVS organisations on property transactions, community asset transfers, and collaborative projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and communication skills, with a proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A proactive and confident approach, with a commitment to promoting community empowerment and sustainable development.
