North Lanarkshire Council is looking for a dynamic Community Partnership Officer to work at the heart of our communities, helping to drive positive change and foster collaboration between the council and local people.
About the Role
As a Community Partnership Officer allocated to Shotts and district, you will:
- Build strong connections with community groups, acting as a trusted point of contact.·
- Facilitate and support meaningful community-led projects like heritage initiatives, play areas, and other local priorities.
- Collaborate with community boards to empower residents and enhance decision-making.
- Promote community empowerment through initiatives like the Community Empowerment Challenge Fund.
- Contribute to our local development programme, ensuring approved projects deliver real benefits for communities.
- Work closely with partners to shape services that respond to local needs.
About You
We’re looking for a proactive and people-focused professional who:
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- As well as interpersonal and organisational skills, and a proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Can manage multiple projects and deliver results.
- Understands the importance of community engagement and empowerment.
- Is passionate about making a difference in local communities.
- A degree/ HND or other post-graduate or professional qualification or equivalent in a relevant discipline (such as Community Planning, Community Development, Community Capacity Building, Community Learning and Development etc.)
- Significant experience in working with communities, and good understanding about community capacity building and community development methodologies.
- Experience working with Community and Voluntary Sector organisations and providing advice and support which helps them improve and develop.
- A proactive and confident approach, with a commitment to promoting community empowerment and sustainable development.
