Working with a variety of partners, the Place service has a key role in guiding this regeneration towards sustainable development. We have two exciting opportunities to join the council’s Enterprise team to lead either the Business Gateway team or the Enterprise Development team.
Enterprise Development team
Reporting to the Enterprise Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of an efficient, high quality, professional business support service that maximises the resources available, delivers positive outcomes and meets the needs of our customers and service users. You will play a key role in supporting the growth and diversification of the local business community, delivering bespoke support to local businesses including grant funding, developing key sector activities and ensuring service development for tourism, social enterprise, digital enablement, net zero support, business events and inward investment.
Business Gateway team
Reporting to the Enterprise Manager, you will be responsible for the delivery of an efficient, high quality, professional Business Gateway service that maximises the resources available, delivers positive outcomes and meets the needs of our customers and service users. This role covers both North and South Lanarkshire Council areas. You will play a key role in managing and developing the Lanarkshire Business Gateway service, promoting entrepreneurialism in Lanarkshire, supporting the creation of new businesses, and supporting and the sustainability and growth of existing businesses.
Interested? For both posts you will require a degree/HND/SVQ4 or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline with substantial work experience in running a fast-paced service area, preferably in an external funding and economic regeneration environment but enthusiasm and drive are equally important.
A strong leader with staff supervision and management experience, you will be an excellent communicator with an ability to influence and engage and to develop working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. You will have a proven track record of delivering a high standard of work against agreed outputs and timescales and have the ability to work in a high paced and evolving environment.
You will be joining a dynamic and flexible team who currently operate a hybrid working model of home-working and office-based working at the Civic Centre/Dalziel Building offices in Motherwell.
Due to the geographical spread of our business, you should be able to travel throughout North Lanarkshire and surrounding areas. A driving licence is desirable
