North Lanarkshire Council (NLC) are looking for a Gym Manager who will have a track record of delivering successful group fitness and gym-based programmes across multiple venues.

You must possess a Level 3 Fitness Instructor/Personal Trainer and be educated to degree/SVQ4/HND level or equivalent. Having experience within a fitness management/supervisory position and a track record of delivering and implementing successful group fitness and gym based conditioning programmes.

Working with both the health and fitness and venue teams you will be responsible for monitoring, measuring, and reporting performance of fitness related and membership sales activity to the Health and Fitness Manager along with establishing strong working relationships across departments for the overall successful delivery of the product within each venue.

Striving to continually improve our customer experience, you will demonstrate exceptional standards within your discipline of health and fitness. As a consequence, you will be instrumental in managing performance of Gym Instructors and Fitness Specialists also overseeing the self-employed group fitness instructors delivering within the venues you will be responsible for.

Experience in supervising and motivating staff is essential as well as excellent commercial awareness of the health and fitness products and services on offer across North Lanarkshire Leisure to provide exceptional standards of service for customers and achieving outstanding levels of customer retention.

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.

This position will follow a work pattern of 5 days over 7 and will be discussed further at interview.

This position is temporary for a period of up to 1 year for a maternity leave cover.

*For all casual/sessional roles, you will receive 12.1% of your hourly rate for every hour worked in total recompense for annual leave, including public holidays. These rates will be indicated separately on your payslip. You will only be paid for the hours that you work.
