North Lanarkshire is the largest local authority social landlord in Scotland with approximately 36,000 council houses. Within the Housing service there are four locality offices covering Airdrie/Cumbernauld, Coatbridge/Kilsyth, Bellshill/Motherwell and Wishaw/Shotts with our Rents team located in Viewpark.

As a Housing Service Manager, you will be responsible to the Housing Operations Manager/Locality Housing Manager, to ensure the effective delivery of specific service wide functions within Housing Solutions to a wide client group including tenants from local authorities, Registered Social Landlords and homeowners.

In this key role you will assist in monitoring the Housing Locality budgets, supervise and manage staff teams and manage functions including rent management, estate services, anti-social behaviour and community safety, housing support services, homeless service delivery, management of temporary accommodation and allocation of void properties.

You will have a Degree/Diploma/SVQ4 in either Housing or Social Services & Healthcare or, you will have the CIH Level 4 Certificate in Housing or SVQ3 in Social Services & Healthcare and be willing to work towards the required qualification in a specified timescale. You will have sound knowledge of housing legislation related legislation, considerable experience including development of housing policies and procedures, budget management and experience of managing employees and processes within a multi-disciplined setting.

CIH membership, a management qualification and experience of working at senior level are desirable.

You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member prior to commencing in this role.

You will also require to be registered or be eligible for registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

It is a requirement of the post that you participate in the Out of Hours Homeless Standby Service Escalation Officer roster during evenings and weekends. Payments for periods of Standby will be made in accordance with the SJC Salaries Agreement.

Working pattern:

Monday - Thursday: 8:45am - 4:45pm (including a 55 minute unpaid break); Friday: 8:45am - 4:15pm (including a 50 minute unpaid break)

End date of Temporary Contract: 01/01/2027
