We are seeking a highly skilled, creative, and organised Learning & Access Officer (Photomedia) to lead the delivery of our photography, animation, and film-based programme. This post will develop strong links to STEM learning and the heritage and museums collections of North Lanarkshire. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a passion for engaging people of all ages in visual media.
Your base will be Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life, Coatbridge but you will work across North Lanarkshire Council as required. This post requires flexibility to work evenings and weekends in line with service needs.
The post holder will deliver a varied programme of weekly classes including formal learning, project-based learning, and one-off public events, while overseeing the smooth operation of our darkroom, photography studio, and associated facilities including the immersive room. You will be responsible for promoting the service, developing external partnerships, managing stock and equipment, and providing supervision and support to staff and volunteers. You will also seek external funding for projects.
We’re looking for someone who brings a mix of creativity, technical expertise, people skills, knowledge of STEM topics, and awareness of the creative learning opportunities of heritage and museum collections.
You will require to become a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme member through Disclosure Scotland and obtain a satisfactory membership check prior to commencing in this role.
